A quote from the 50th Anniversary Celebration

By Major General Jamie Balfour CBE DL

to be underestimated. It is a major achievement

that we are rightly celebrating today in

Winchester.

Born out of three famous former regiments, The

Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry,

The Kings Royal Rifle Corps and The Rifle

Brigade,

our unifying battlehonour of “Peninsula”

highlights our heritage as pioneering and

audacious light troops and as a rifle regiment.

The then Duke of Wellington, and Sharpe would

be proud of and recognise all that we achieved

in our 41 years of service from 1966 to 2007”.

Reviews …… What Brother Riflemen are saying

“Thank you for the DVD.  We watched it today and were absolutely delighted with the result. We have fond memories of the RGJ vets 50th

anniversary in Winchester but obviously a certain amount is forgotten in the mists of time. However the film reconnected and reminded us of

the many aspects of that excellent occasion. Lots of nostalgia, ie the local pub crawl and various faces. Excellently edited and compiled

projecting the flavour and Atmosphere. Thank you very much. Best wishes”.

Roger Downton - Ex 1st RGJ

“I don’t know how many DVD’s you have left, but I reckon theses will sell like hot cakes for a few years to come! Not all who would like one

belong to FB or attend reunions! Good luck Kelvin - I reckon you and your crew did very well!”.

Keith Kneller - Ex 1st RGJ

“I just had a sneak preview of this RGJ 50th reunion DVD and I must say that I was very impressed with the quality of the production. The

picture and sound is really good and it captures the day perfectly. Very well done to Kelvin and crew”.

Gary Driscoll - Ex 2nd RGJ

“Just watched the DVD of the 50th anniversary of The Royal Green Jackets video, bloody marvellous. Kelvin Crumplin you did us proud,

outstanding mate. Had a few tears reminiscing. Those who haven’t got the DVD yet are missing out. Get it now”.

George Cook - Ex 3rd RGJ

“Just watched your DVD, may I congratulate you from a man who served 37 years. I served with 2,3,4 and 5 RGJ. It took me a while to find

myself. I have never seen so many old friends in one place. I never got the Queen’s shilling but this is the best Ł20 I have ever spent. Only a

Rifle Brigade man could have done such a good job. I joined them in ‘76 in Berlin. I joined in ‘65 with 3 Green Jackets and got posted to 2

Green Jackets. Thank you for directing a piece of pure magic. The tears were running all the way”.

Edward Fox - Ex 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th RGJ
